Terms of use

The terms for using www.potholeraja.com: what you can rely on, what you may do with our content and names, and the law that applies.

Last updated: 17 October 2026

Part 1

About these terms

These terms apply when you use www.potholeraja.com. The site is run by GroundReality Trust, a charitable trust based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. PotHoleRaja® is the Trust’s programme brand. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “the Trust” mean GroundReality Trust.

By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

Our other policies also apply. The privacy policy and cookie policy explain how we handle personal data, and the donation policy covers giving. A signed agreement for a partnership, CSR programme or paid work takes precedence over these terms for that work.

Part 2

Information on this site

We publish information about our work, programmes, research and materials in good faith, and we try to keep it accurate and up to date. It is general information, not professional, engineering, legal or tax advice, so please take advice that fits your situation.

  • Figures

    Numbers such as potholes fixed, cities reached and volunteers come from our own records at the time of writing, and we update them from time to time.

  • Programmes, timelines and fees

    Descriptions of programmes, timelines, outcomes and fees are indicative. They are not offers, and they bind the Trust only when they are set out in a signed agreement.

  • Pothole reports

    Reporting a pothole does not mean that we can fix it, or fix it by a particular date. This website is not an emergency service: if a road is dangerous or someone is hurt, call 112 or contact the local authority.

Part 3

What you send us

When you send us a report, photo, video or message, through this site, WhatsApp or email, you confirm that:

  • it is accurate, as far as you know;

  • you have the right to share it; and

  • it does not break the law or anyone else’s rights.

You keep any rights you have in what you send. You allow the Trust, free of charge, to use, copy, edit and share it to plan and carry out repairs, to work with road agencies and partners, and to report our work, including in reports, on this website and on social media. We do not publish your name or contact details with it unless you agree.

Please avoid sending photos in which people’s faces or vehicle number plates can be clearly seen.

Part 4

Acceptable use

Please use this site lawfully and fairly. In particular, do not:

  • give false details, or someone else’s details, in our forms;

  • send spam, malicious code, or offensive or unlawful content;

  • try to get into parts of the site or our systems that you are not allowed to use, or overload or disrupt the site;

  • copy the site or its content in bulk by automated means, other than search engines indexing it; or

  • use the site, or our name, to mislead people, for example by collecting money in the name of PotHoleRaja or the Trust.

We may block access, or remove content, that we believe breaks these terms. If you have found a security weakness, please report it as our security page explains.

Part 5

Content, trade marks and inventions

  • Our content

    Unless stated otherwise, the text, photos, videos, graphics and documents on this site belong to us or to those who have licensed them to us. News coverage, videos, names and logos of other organisations belong to their owners.

  • Trade marks

    PotHoleRaja® and GridMats® are registered trade marks. Please do not use these names or logos, or anything confusingly similar, without written permission, and never in a way that suggests a partnership or endorsement that does not exist.

  • Inventions

    GridMats® and the urban-heat cooling surface were invented by Dr Prathap B. GridMats is protected by Indian Patent No. 398992, and the cooling surface by a published Indian patent application. Nothing on this site gives you a licence to make, use or sell them, or to use any patent, design or trade mark.

  • Sharing our work

    You are welcome to link to our pages, and to quote short extracts for news, education or other non-commercial purposes, with credit to “PotHoleRaja” and a link to the page. For anything else, including using our photos, videos or logos, please ask us first.

Part 6

Partnerships, CSR and volunteering

  • Partnerships and CSR

    Partnerships, CSR programmes, consulting and studies are governed by a separate written agreement that sets out the work, budget, timelines and reporting. Nothing on this site is a binding offer.

  • Volunteering

    If you volunteer at a drive or event, please follow the safety briefing and the instructions of the person leading it. Volunteers under 18 need the consent of a parent or guardian.

  • Acting in our name

    Volunteering is unpaid and does not make you an employee or agent of the Trust. Volunteers and partners may not collect money or make commitments in the Trust’s name unless we have authorised them in writing.

Part 7

Donations

Donations, including 80G receipts and certificates, CSR contributions, contributions from outside India and refunds, are governed by our donation policy. Please read it before you give.

Part 9

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the site available and accurate, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, or free of errors or viruses. We may change, suspend or remove any part of it.

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version. If you keep using the site after a change, the updated terms apply.

Part 10

Limitation of liability

The site and its content are provided “as is”, without any warranty. As far as the law allows, we and our trustees, staff and volunteers are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from reliance on its general information, including indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Indian law.

Part 11

Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or from your use of this site.

Before you go to court, please write to us so that we can try to resolve the matter.
