Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, magnification, voice control or only a keyboard, and people with low vision, colour blindness, hearing loss or a learning disability.

Last updated: 17 October 2026

Part 1

Our target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the international standard for accessible websites.

We are working towards that target. Some parts of the site may not meet it yet, and Part 3 lists the ones we know about.

Part 2

What we have done

  • Skip link

A “Skip to content” link, the first thing on every page, takes keyboard and screen-reader users straight to the main content.

  • Keyboard navigation

Links, menus, buttons, forms and video players can be reached and used with a keyboard. On small screens, the menu opens with a button.

  • Visible focus

The link, button or field you are on is marked with a thick outline: yellow on dark sections and near-black on light ones, so it stands out everywhere.

  • Reduced motion

If your device is set to reduce motion, the site turns off smooth scrolling and animations.

  • Text alternatives

Images that carry information have alt text. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.

  • Captions

Our videos play from YouTube, where you can turn on captions with the CC button. Many captions are created automatically, so they may contain mistakes.

  • Colour contrast

We have checked our text and background colours against the WCAG AA contrast levels.

  • Structure and forms

Pages use headings, landmarks and a page language, so that screen readers can move around them. Form fields have visible labels, and required fields are marked.

  • Zoom and small screens

Pages reflow to fit phones and zoomed-in views. Wide tables scroll sideways inside their own box.

Part 3

Known limitations

  • Third-party embeds and services

The YouTube player and WhatsApp are run by other companies, and we cannot fully control their accessibility. You can always email or call us instead.

  • Older PDFs

Some older documents, such as fliers and reports, may not work well with screen readers. Ask us and we will send the content in another format.

  • Language

The site is in English. Your browser’s translation feature can help, and we are happy to explain anything on a call.

  • Coverage on other websites

News articles and videos about our work on other websites are outside our control.

Part 4

Other formats and feedback

If you need information from this site in another format, such as plain text, larger print or a phone call that talks you through it, tell us and we will help.

If something on the site is hard to use, please let us know. Email csr@groundreality.org with the subject “Accessibility”, or WhatsApp or call +91 814 POTHOLE (+91 814 768 4653). Please tell us:

  • the page, or its web address;

  • what you were trying to do, and what went wrong; and

  • the device, browser and any assistive technology you use, if you can.

Our promise: we will reply within 5 working days, and fix what we can.

Part 5

How we check

We check colour contrast and keyboard use when we design or change pages. We review this statement at least once a year, and after any major change to the site.

This statement was prepared on 17 October 2026 and last reviewed on 17 October 2026.
